At Agent18, our philosophy has always been that we don't just want to make the best eco-friendly cases. We want to make the best cases, period... that just happen to be eco-friendly. And we are constantly trying to take what "best case" means to the next level. Meet our newest case, the EcoShield+ (patent pending). Made with the same tight-fitting, protective slider design as our standard EcoShield, it adds four major new features. 1. Protection for your headphone jack! A small slider door moves easily back and forth to guard against dirt and dust when it's closed, and allows you to insert your headphones painlessly when it's open. 2. Protection for your thirty-pin dock connector! When closed, the bottom piece of the case completely covers your dock connection port. And when you want to access it, you just slide the piece away, into.......... 3. ...The kickstand! The same plastic piece that protects the dock connector, when pivoted out, serves as a stand for FaceTime, video viewing, and more. 4. Speaker enhancement! The design of the bottom part of the case has angled openings to provide an amplification to the sound leaving your bottom speaker. Besides all this, the EcoShield+ has the rubber side-insets and matte finish of the classic EcoShield, giving it a great feel and providing a solid grip. We at Agent18 have put a lot of work into the design and engineering of this, our newest baby, and we think you will love it as much as we do. For design, protection, and functionality, you can't beat the EcoShield+! Plus, just like the standard EcoShield, each case is made with at least one recycled plastic bottle! The EcoShield+ will be shipping from Agent18.com within the next two weeks. Tell us what you think in the comments below to be entered into a drawing for a free EcoShield+! |

I recently left Apple to join the Agent18 team, and one thing people used to always ask me was if Apple had a buy-back or trade-in program. I always said no, before realizing that maybe they were looking for something like Apple's recycling program. Apple will recycle any computer (Mac or PC) and any iPod or mobile phone, free of charge. You simply go to their website, fill out a form, and are sent a box and a prepaid shipping label. You send off your old electronics, and Apple does the rest! And if your computer has monetary value (as appraised by PowerON, a company Apple contracts with to do this, according to their website), you'll get an Apple gift card for that amount! Or if you have an old iPod (working or not), you can take it into an Apple Retail Store for 10% off a new iPod. So don't let your old products gather dust: recycle, and be rewarded for it! |

Biking has long been an eco-friendly solution to commuting. But many people don’t own a bicycle (or an apartment big enough to keep one in.) .jpg)
Enter Cycle Hire. It happened in Montreal and now it’s happening in London. So, what is it? It’s like a cab service – only with less pollution and more fun! According to Cyclelicious, London plans to implement 6,000 bikes for hire at 400 stations throughout London on July 30. Commuters will be able to pay per day to rent a special commuter bike and get around their city in eco-friendly style. We love this idea and would love to see this in the United States. An eco-friendly, accessible option, is exactly what this country needs to kick start an eco-friendly way of life. |

Summer is finally here! And you know what that means!
Summer hikes, cooler clothes, a new Agent18 case to go with your iPhone 4, and…. POOL PARTIES! As much as we here at Agent18 love taking a dip, chlorine pools leave our skin filled with nasty chemicals and nasty smells. And this eco-friendly crew is not into chemicals! (We’re a little more lax on the nasty smells…) And so, in the spirit of swimming in fresh, beautiful water, we found some amazing (natural) pools from around the world. Thanks to the The Daily Green we are convinced that we never want to set foot in a chlorine filled pool again.Check out a few of the pools below! Or, for more images and locations go here!

Something new is happening at Agent18 - and this time, it's not about cases. We've added a new face to our team! When it came to chosing this new member, we continued our trend of innovation and quality. Meet Agent18's President, Sam Crone.
Sam enjoys Diet Pepsi at 9am, long walks around our office, and energizing his fellow employees. Want to know more about Sam? Check out this questionnaire he so willingly filled out!
1. NAME: Sam Crone 2. TITLE: President 3. HOMETOWN: Madison, WI – one of only two major US cities built on an Isthmus. 4. FAVORTIE HOBBY: Golf 5. HIT RANDON ON YOUR IPOD, WHAT’S THE FIRST SONG THAT COMES UP: “Mandolin Rain” by Bruce Hornsby 6. FAVORITE PERSON TO CALL ON YOUR IPHONE: Two phone numbers I wish I had in my iPhone would be Cesar Millan and Mike Holmes (from Holmes on Homes). If I were able to communicate with dogs and fix anything, my life would be complete. Oh, and I better not forget my wife. 7. FAVORITE AGENT18 PRODUCT: White iPhone EcoShield 8. FAVORITE IPHONE APPLICATION: That’s a toss up between Hipstamatic and Angry Birds 9. CRAZIEST STORY ABOUT AGENT18 PROTECTION: Some people might say I’m a little “clumsy,” but I think I just drop things more often than other people. A couple weeks ago I sent my iPhone cartwheeling down a flight of 15 cement stairs and it scored a perfect 10 hitting each one on the way down. As I walked down the stairs, recalculating my day’s schedule so I could get a new phone, I noticed that the screen was still illuminated. When I picked up the phone it worked just fine and my White EcoShield looked as new as the day I got it. 10. FAVORITE ECOFRIENDLY PRODUCT (OTHER THAN AGENT18 ECOSHIELDS): Bar Surya, in London created a dance floor with tiny springs that when compressed produce an electrical current that helps power the club. 11. FAVORITE PART OF YOUR JOB: Being part of such a dynamic industry and constantly being able to drive innovation with a team of very talented “inventors.” I also love meeting people everyday that have been using our products for years on all their generations of iPods and iPhones, and hearing all the crazy things that have happened to their favorite devices and how our cases have protected them along the way.

Unless you live under a rock (how very eco-friendly of you) you must have heard that Apple has released their new iPhone 4. And it’s pretty rad.
So what makes it so much better? Here are just a few of the new (and improved) features. - Video Calling (Now you can see the people you talk to…and they can see you!) - Retina Display (I know what you’re thinking, what is that? Well, it’s basically the clearest picture you’ve ever seen.) - Multi-Tasking (This means you no longer have to stop Pandora – or any of your other apps – to send a text, use the calculator, check your email, etc.) - HD Video Recording and Editing (This pretty much explains itself…) - Mega Pixel Camera with Flash (You guessed it, a better camera and flash capabilities.) I know what you’re thinking…we want one too! And you can bet we will be making new, innovative cases for this new and innovative phone! So keep checking back to our website for updates on what we are working on for the new iPhone 4! |

You know the old saying….”If you don’t give back nobody will like you.”
You don’t? Well you should! Because that’s the newest and coolest fundraising catch phrase on the web! Welcome to Crowdrise, an innovative new website created by actor, director, marathoner, and all around good guy Edward Norton that allows average Janes (and Joes) like you and I to create our own, unique and inspired fundraising site.
No cause is too big or too small. Whether you want to raise money for the trees, the animals, the people of Haiti, or your local school, Crowdrise is the place to do it! The imaginative (and humorous) new site allows you to create a site, litter it with your own pictures, incentives, and words. It’s like Facebook, for the giving soul!.jpg)
As they say on their website, “Crowdrise is way more fun than anything else aside from being all nervous about trying to kiss a girl for the first time and her not saying something like ‘you’ve got to be kidding me.”
Now that sounds like fun to us! |

Nowadays it’s hip to be eco friendly. It’s the latest trend – like camouflage or raw food. If celebrities are doing it, we should too! (Eco) green is definitely the new black.
New ‘designer’ eco tips are popping up everyday. But let’s take a moment to think back when being eco-friendly was not so hip. When Saved By The Bell ruled the airways and Earth Day was that one day a year you remembered not to litter and plant a tree if you had time. So, in place of designer ideas and trendy green traditions, let’s get back to the basics. The core (and obvious) ways you can improve your planet. - Turn off the lights when exiting a room. In the words of teenagers from 1995, “DUH!” - Next time you think about throwing your candy wrapper (or organic, gluten-free, pesticide-free, hand made, power bar wrapper) out the window…well, DON’T! - Turn off the water when brushing your teeth. Let’s not forget this harrowing video from Sesame Street. - Remember the first wave of recycling fever? Where all you were asked to do was recycle soda cans? Well guess what? That’s still something you should do! - Go plant a tree. Not to be confused with the dismissive phrase “go climb a tree.” (Which you should do if you don’t follow these tips.) There. Wasn’t that a lovely walk down memory lane? Now go put those classic moves back into your daily routine. Besides, vintage is SOOO IN. |

Let’s be honest. A show of hands please – how many of you would live in a treehouse if you could?
That’s one, two, three...nine….twenty…three hundred and forty-seven…..yep, that’s what we thought; almost all of you. Treehouses have always conjured up memories of childhood fantasies and a fun way to spend time with nature…and no girls allowed.
But did you know there are actual schools that you can attend that teach you to build your dream (tree)house!?
Places like the Northwest Treehouse School hold seminars instructing how to chose the right tree, use the right wood, etc. But wait, these aren’t your average treehouses. They are treehouses for actually living ala Swiss Family Robinson. That’s right…LVING IN A TREE.

Check out some more of these amazing treehouses, as featured in Daily Green, and you’ll understand why hanging out in the trees might be for more than just the birds. |

How many times have you been on your bike and been honked at, yelled at, or even run off the road? How many times have you looked for a great bike path in your city and came up short?
Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood wants to change all that. Last month he announced his goal to give bikers and walkers their share of the road. According to the Huffington Post, “LaHood says the government is going to give bicycling – and walking, too – the same importance as automobiles in transportation planning and the selection of projects for federal money.” LaHood went on to say that the time has come to stop favoring motorized vehicles in the transportation department.
We like the way that sounds! But what exactly does it mean? What noticeable changes will be made to move this promise into a reality?
According to LaHood’s blog they he is pushing for the following steps: • Treat walking and bicycling as equals with other transportation modes. • Ensure convenient access for people of all ages and abilities. • Go beyond minimum design standards. • Collect data on walking and biking trips. • Set a mode share target for walking and bicycling. • Protect sidewalks and shared-use paths the same way roadways are protected (for example, snow removal) • Improve nonmotorized facilities during maintenance projects. We think this sounds great! Agent18 would like to thank, Ray LaHood for taking serious steps toward making eco-options more available. Before people can start using bikes as their main mode of transportation they need a safe and accessible way to do it. |
