One of the best things about the iPhone is that it allows you to surf the Internet anywhere you go. Anywhere that is, except on an airplane.

But change is a commin'…
Multiple airlines have officially announced that they will be outfitting their planes with wireless Internet.  Delta has wireless in 70% of their planes and American Airlines has installed wireless in all of their 100 MD-80 (not that we know what that is.)  Southwest is also jumping on board and has plans to outfit every one of their airlines by 2011.
So we know what you’re thinking.  Does this mean free wireless?
We wish it did.
Most airlines are charging up to $12.95 for WiFi for a flight that lasts 3 hours or more.  Which brings up the question, would you fork over that much (or even anything) for wireless Internet at high altitude?
We would love to hear what you think!

We know, we know.  You're anxiously anticipating what Agent18 will be doing for the iPad.  What will it be, you ask?  Perhaps a case, or a bag, or maybe a car that runs on fuel powered by the iPad?  Hey, our engineers are good, but even they have their limits.  But don't worry - it's going to be awesome, something to do the eagerly anticipated iPad proud.  We just can't tell you what it is quite yet.

But we can tell you....
It won't be as confusing to use as this...

And it will be as cool as this...

As strong as this...

And as irresistible as this...

And all with the Agent18 brand you know and trust to back it up.  So stay tuned and check back often.  You (and the iPad) are in for a treat!

It's finally here. Apple's big announcement: The iPad

Just days (and mere moments) before the big announcement there were some interesting (and ridiculous) rumors circulating on the World Wide Web. What follows is a list of our favorites.

But don't worry, these fun rumors are followed by the cold hard facts about Apple’s latest golden child!

Rumors:

1.    Sting has been using it for years.

2.    President Obama might use it in his State of the Union Address.

3.    Steve Jobs will descend from a mountain with two tablets in his hands a la Moses (an image which they ended up using in the presentation.)

4.    The iPad will have a 3D display.

5.    The iPad will come equipped with a taser.

And while Apple does refer to the iPad as “magical” but as it turned out, none of those rumors were true.

The Cold Hard Facts:

1.    Dimensions:

a.    9.56” High

b.    7.74 “ Wide
c.     0.5” Deep
d.    1.5 lbs

2.    Layman’s Terms:  A large, high-powered, super-iPod Touch.

3.    Includes a touch screen keypad for sending emails/searching the internet.

4.    Photos are easier to display and find.  You can even create slideshows with your personal photos.

5.    Videos in HD are perfectly crisp and fill the entire screen, with no buttons or icons to distract you.

6.    Listen to your music with the powerful built in speakers or with Bluetooth wireless headphones.

7.    Lost? The maps on the iPad include a high resolution Satellite and street view images.

8.    Find your contacts easily with the built in contacts finder.  To find directions to your contacts house just click on the address.

Find out more about the iPad at Apple’s website!

As many of you might know, the staff at Agent18 resides in Hollywood, California. Normally we like to avoid the paparazzi (but they are hard to lose when you are as popular as we are) and the hubbub of the glitterati. But now, we’ve decided to make our big TV debut. Perhaps you’ve seen us?

On HOUSE?

Or on Ugly Betty?

We were even on How I Met Your Mother and there will soon be photo proof of that too!

Yes, yes fan mail can be sent to the office…
Want the EXACT REPLICA of these famous cases?
To grab the one from House go here, here, and here!
To find the not-ugly-in-the-least case from Ugly Betty?  Click here!
We’ll see you in the movies!

Wait!  What are you doing with that old book? Are you going to just throw it away?  Yeah, yeah the pages are torn and it’s not written in a language you speak, that’s no reason to trash it!  After all, this is 2010!  The year of thrift (and also the Tiger.)

Instead of throwing away that book, try this!
Attic Journals are a great example of what it means to be thrifty and eco conscious.  Made from old books, they have a creative and fun cover with blank pages for you to fill with your New Year’s resolutions, thoughts, and scribbles.  And although we fully advocate you buying one from the website we also think it would be really fun to make your own!

So join the millions that start a journal at the beginning of the year.  Maybe you will even end up as one of the hundreds of people who stick to it!

It’s almost time for a fresh start!  2010 is just around the corner and New Year’s Resolutions are on our mind.  As well as making great new designs and eating less cookies (a constant struggle) Agent18 has some Eco New Years Resolutions we found and want to share.

Thanks to thedailygreen.com and writer Annie Bell Muzaurieta, these resolutions are the perfect thing to start your year out right with some smart (and funny) tips.  As she notes, “If I can remember to TiVo ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ I can remember to bring my own bags to the grocery store.”  Indeed.
1.    I will relinquish my title of Most Likely to Acquire Useless Crap I Don’t Wear or Need.
2.    I will avenge my phantom load.  (In other words, your electronics that are plugged in but not in use.)
3.    I will be smarter than bottled water companies and drink for free what they are trying to sell me.
4.    If I can remember to TiVo “Dancing with the Stars,” I can remember to bring my own bags to the grocery store.
5.    I will switch to recycled paper products at home (but not if they make me chafe).
6.    I will consider whether my meal came from the farm or the factory.
7.    I will take a day off from road rage and take mass transit or car-pool one day a week.
So have a safe, happy, and eco New Year!

The holiday season is in full swing!  Lights have been hung, candles have been lit, and all your Agent18 gifts have been bought (right?!?  If not, go here!)

The only thing left to do is pile in your car or on board the bus or hop on your bike (how very eco-friendly) and take in the neighborhood holiday light displays (who doesn’t love seeing those houses that would make Clarke Griswold say ”Rusty, we could have done more.”)

“Too cold,” you cry?  Well, thanks to msnbc.com you can enjoy some beautiful light displays from the comfort of your own home.  They have created a special photo collection of “Holiday Lights Around The World.”  So fill up your eggnog, grab your laptop, settle back into your la-z-boy and revel in other people’s creativity.

Nothing says “Happy Holidays” like a few thousand strands of lights and a reindeer on the roof (besides a stocking stuffed with an Agent18 StandHear of course.)  Enjoy!

Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus.

Or is there?
That’s the question our favorite new holiday movie is asking.  Check out “Stalking Santa” a quirky, hilarious, documentary about one man’s quest to find St. Nicholas.

We love this movie because not only does it celebrate the holidays but it also celebrates people who don’t stop when someone says tells them it can’t be done.
And we like that...because that’s what we do.

At Agent18 we are always pushing the boundaries and finding inspiration in the unexpected, and we never accept “that’s not possible.”  We jumped on the eco-train before it was moving, we created the first hard plastic iPod case, and we are continuing to innovate and design new products.  (Check them out here.)
So in the spirit of the holidays, we want to give a shout out to an independent movie that does the same.

Happy Holidays. From one believer to another!

Shopping malls are a little more crowded, there is a distinct chill in the air, and your wallet is starting to feel disturbingly lighter.

It’s the Holiday Season! Time for family, friends, and focusing on what really matters!  For everyone here at Agent18 that means making sure our holiday is full of good cheer and thinking of our planet.
So we’ve come up with five fun, easy tips for a greener holiday!  Enjoy!
1.    The Tree That Lived
We all love the fresh scent of pine filling our homes with the holiday spirit.  But this season instead of cutting down a tree buy a potted one!  After the holidays are over, instead of throwing it out you can plant it in your yard and enjoy it for years.
2.    A Card that Says ‘I Care’
Reaching out to our loved ones with a card is a great holiday tradition.  This year, instead of wasting all that paper, send an electronic card to those who
have computers!
3.    Agent18
Come on, you knew we had to say it!  Even if it’s obvious, another way you can go green this holiday season is shopping on our very own website!  Agent18 not only packages their products with recyclable plastic and recycled paper that is printed on soy ink but they also have an ENTIRE LINE of cases (EcoShield) made from post-consumer recycled plastic bottles.  A perfect, eco-stocking stuffer!
4.    Think Outside the Box!
Nothing puts us in the holiday spirit like wrapping presents.  This year wrap your holiday treats in alternative wrapping “paper” and save a few trees while you spread the joy.  A few ideas: a wicker basket, a piece of unused cloth, and our personal favorite, an out-of-date map!  For more great wrapping ideas, check it out here!
5.    The Gift That Keeps On Giving
This year, give a gift that gives back to the planet.  Make a donation to a local cause that inspires you and keeps this planet healthy!  For ideas check it out here!
