Opposable Thumb Malfunction
March 17th, 2008Everyone drops his/her belongings every now and then. And if you’re like me, you drop your things every day – again and again. Whether it be your cell phone, eye glasses, car keys, or the dishes in the kitchen, our opposable thumbs don’t seem to be 100% fool proof. So, when it comes to expensive toys like iPods, iPhones, iPod Touches, or whatever, you’re either glad that you splurged the extra cash for protection, or you’re sad when you pick up your damaged goods from the ground.
The following are some extreme cases of opposable thumb malfunction coupled with unfortunate timing:
CASE 1
Location: Train station
Dropped From: Elevated walkway
Height: 30 feet down
Drop Surface: Concrete
Situation: On the way to work
Case Protection: Agent18 VideoShield
Result: “The case popped open, absorbed the shock of the fall and my iPod didn’t have to be replaced, which I was sure I was going to have to do. I’ve always been grateful for [the case], but this morning I decided that your product was probably one of the greatest investments I’ve ever made. I bought a plastic [Agent18] iPod case from you last year and it has, at this point, probably saved me hundreds of dollars. Thank you for making such an excellent product. I’ll definitely stay a local customer and spread the word about your product.” – Matt C.
| CASE 2 Location: Home Dropped From: the living room window Height: One flight down Drop Surface: Concrete sidewalk Situation: “You don’t want to know” Case Protection: Agent18 case# Result: “I assumed that I would find it in pieces, but even though the protective case came off, both it and the ipod survived! Thank you thank you thank you!” – David J. |

iPhone: A Chew Toy? A Canine Accessory?
March 10th, 2008Perhaps the iPhone looked tasty to the canine that day when he decided to bite into it, making it his own personal chew toy. Or maybe the allure of an iPhone stretches beyond humans, captivating even the animal kingdom. I know I can’t keep my paws off of mine.
In any event, John H. was glad he had an Agent18 case protecting his iPhone when his girlfriend’s dog decided he would try to eat it. Although the strong jaws of this very big dog gnawed at his iPhone, putting teeth marks in it, the brunt of the dog’s attack was shielded by Agent18.
After the incident, John wrote that “Thus far, I’m loving my Eco Shield for my iPhone. It really is perfect for what I want out of a case.”
Describing the dog, John said, “He looks ferocious but he’s really a pansy with an clumsy strong body, but man they’re cute puppies.” And we agreed, so here are some photos of him. He’s a French breed called a Beauceron.
**No dogs were hurt during the protection of this iPhone**
MacWorld Reviews Agent18 Diamond Vest for iPhone
March 1st, 2008DiamondVest for iPhone:
A ruggedly designed skin case, the black DiamondVest for iPhone is a single piece of silicone that slips easily onto your iPhone. A tactile pattern resembling diamond-plate metal makes the case easier to grip; the silicone is thick enough to protect your iPhone against everyday bumps and scratches but thin enough so that it doesn’t add much bulk. Unlike some other skin cases, however, the DiamondVest doesn’t include protective covering for the iPhone’s screen.

Mobile Protection at 70MPH Fast
February 28th, 2008Taking Agent18 protection “on the go” to a whole new level was Agent18 customer Dave S. of Texas.
Normally Dave likes to listen to his iPod Nano at a leisurely speed while mowing the lawn on his Kubota zero turn mower. And for the past year he’s been using his Agent18 case to protect his Nano during this bumpy ride. However, on this occasion Dave wasn’t riding a mower, and he was going a little faster than normal. Okay, A LOT faster. You see, Dave also rides a BMW R1150R and this is where the story really begins.
Enjoying one of the mild, December Saturdays that East Texas provides, Dave and six others took off riding on various bikes. Like usual, Dave brought along his iPod Nano to accompany him during the ride, recalling: “I had the Nano in the left vest pocket of my leather vest over a sweater.” Cruising along at 70MPH, Dave noticed that he was having trouble keeping his vest snapped up due to the fast speed. As part of the pack sped on faster, Dave throttled to catch up. That’s when he noticed his headset wires stretching out and pulling his Nano right out of his vest pocket. Trying to brake and grab hold of the headphone cords at the same time, his Nano went air born out of his grasp. Flying at 70MPH, the Agent18 protected Nano crashed into the pavement as the two riders behind Dave narrowly missed running over it. Stopping immediately, a couple fellow riders helped Dave find it.
Recalling the incident, Dave wrote: “I [first] found the back plastic casing of the Agent18 protector. [Then] my friend found the Nano and exclaimed, “it is still on!” I tested it and it worked fine and had no marks. I never found the other half of the clear casing, but the sacrifice of your product is something you can be proud to declare and feel successful. I will be looking to replace the case immediately! Thanks for making a great product.”
